New photos with performer/gymnast Arno.

Some new photos I did a few week ago. I had this idea to build a shallow pool for a futuristic shoot and it finally came to fruitation. I built that pool and made it happen! The model is a gymnast and past Cirque du Soleil performer. Amazing physical skills!

Lolly the Sex Doll is back in the public eye!

Click for a better view to read this amazingly disturbing text!

This came out of one of those trashy "CRIME/DETECTIVE" magazines from the 70's. The pictures of Lolly are entertaining but it's the copy in this ad that is outrageous.

First off, It took "18 months of research and improvements" to get Lolly! Who knew? The bottom left section is unbelievably inappropriate! Once you receive your Lolly in the mail the ad urges you to dress Lolly like you feel a teenager should look. It then goes on to say, "You've seen them, wizzing by on their bicycles with their long hair flying behind them..." I am pretty sure they person that wrote this copy is in jail now for molestation of teens "at the hamburger stands, working in their tiny uniforms."

Just so you know, you can also purchase a bikini for an extra 2 bucks. And if you are wondering what "Greek Features" are?... just look it up. It just keep's getting better! Lolly really is the BEST of the BEST!

Samantha James - Amber Sky - Music Video

A music video I just finished editing. I fell in love with this song when I first heard it and knew it had to have a decent music video. And I had all of this great vintage footage. Put the two together and you have something special! You are bound to love Samantha James as much as I do! So watch it already!

A few of my favorite photos from Chicago

I went to Chicago a few weeks ago to see my sister and to take photos. I fell in love with that city! If they didn't have those awful winters I would consider living there at some point! It was a dream come true walking in some of those architecture rich neighborhoods. Here are a few of my favorite photos from that trip!

Cars Cars Cars

A short doc about a kinetic sculpture that took four years to build. We had the honor of spending three days in Chris Burden's studio filming this sculpture before it was moved to the Los Angeles Country Museum of Art (LACMA) where it is being reinstalled.
The installation opens fall 2011.
Chris Burden is one of our favorite artists of all time. For more about him and his work http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Burden

Mommy Dearest!

Wig-Tastic

A photo from the shoot I did with the very talented Nikki Cross. We came up with the idea of a "punk origami wig." A few weeks later, much to my delight, the wig was finished and even better than I had imagined. We went for a futuristic punk-chic look for the shoot. Makeup by Odibio Martinez! Visit Nikki's site here.

An Opening so Grand....

photos by Colin Young-Wolf

The Flaming Lips at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery was incredible tonight! The opening of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" mixed with giant Confetti Cannon's, Wayne surfing the crowd in a massive ball, fog machines, laser lights, over-sized balloons spilling out into the crowd.... an opening so grand it made me teary eyed with joy! It was an assault on the senses in the very BEST way. Hands down, ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I'VE SEEN IN LA!

Premiering new work this weekend!

I will be premiering some new work this weekend that I am really excited about! I have begun to use a new printing process on metal and the results are really beautiful. This special process allows the luminance of the brushed aluminum to shine through the work and bring out the colors in a way that was impossible before! I am showing with 4 other great artists and there will be food, drink and music at the show and over 35 other galleries open to explore! Hope you can make it!

Madonna's Express yourself & Lady Gaga's Born This Way compared

It could be an innocent mistake...but I don't know! I can't imagine that someone didn't say to Gaga, "Hey this sounds a lot like Madonna's record Express Yourself.

What do you think?
